Berlin Hotels

Berlin is the capital city of Germany and one of the most populous cities in the world with citizen from about 190 countries all over the world. The city also happens to be one of the 16 states of Germany. It is about 70km west from the border with Poland. Most of the areas that surround Berlin are woodlands which comprise of a couple of lakes. The city experiences some sort of temperate climate according to the system of Koppen climate classification. During summer, the temperatures range from highs of 22ºc-25ºc and lows of about 12ºc-14ºc. During winter it is quite cold with temperatures going as low as 4ºc to -2ºc. The city might a little bit warmer than the surrounding areas because of the heat that is generated and stored by buildings in the city. These mostly apply to the Berlin hotels where by it is impossible to tell whether it is snowing once you are inside. The city previously was the city in the then kingdom of Prussia in 1701-1918. Before that the city had been documented in the thirteenth century into a city status. It was after the Second World War that Berlin was divided by a great wall. It became East Berlin which was in the eastern part of Germany and West Germany which was at the Western part of Germany as the name suggests. The division between east and west affected the city and Germany as a whole because very few tourists visited and these affected the Berlin hotel industries a great deal. Most of those problems were brought to an end when the wall was brought down in the year 1990 thus uniting the east and west once again. Since then the Berlin hotel industry has really improved and you will find tourists visiting historical and ancient sites to learn more about Germany and where it has come from. Today the city hosts about 147 foreign embassies since it regained its status as the capital city of Germany. Because of the fact that the city is a major center of Science, culture, media and even politics in Europe, the hotels in Berlin have been improved in such a way that the people who are in the hotel industry have vowed to keep on improving the services in order to make the hotels some of the best in Europe and in the world as a whole.
